When I want to make homemade buns or bread it is utmost important to have the right ingredients. I’m so pleased to have discovered Nutty Vegan a danish webshop that sells all the right stuff for my way of cooking. I don’t know about you but what’s your favorite ingredients?
INGREDIENTS (approx. 12 buns)
HUSKand 6-7 sps. water. Stir together.
Start by dissolving the yeast with water in a large bowl, then mix the rest of the ingredients together. Knead the dough together for a few minutes, and then knead well on the table for 6-8 minutes. Let the dough rest in the bowl for 5 minutes, then knead it further for a few minutes on the table.
Once the dough has rested, divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape the dough into buns and place them well on three baking trays with baking paper. Place a piece of baking paper on top of the buns and press them flat with a baking sheet so the buns are approx. 1 cm high. Remove the top piece of baking paper. Allow the buns to rise for approx. 2-3 hours to almost double size – It is important that the dough is covered while it is rising to prevent the surface from drying out.
Turn on the oven at 220 °. Brush the burger buns with plant milk or water, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. They are baked when golden. The baking time can vary from oven to oven but takes approx. 12-15 minutes. When the buns are done, transfer them to a rack to cool.
